Frequently Asked Questions

It may be difficult especially for small geoscience research institutions to publish their institutional publication series and journals electronically using own resources. We support and/or realise e-publication of your material and ensure permanent availability, persistent citability and high visibility of your work within the geoscience research community.

If you publish your documents via FID GEO, you grant the FID GEO repository the non-exclusive right to make the content of your documents accessible to the public. “Non-exclusive” implies that you keep your right to publish your documents somewhere else (e.g. homepage, publishers etc.).

If you, the author, have given us explicit permission, we will provide the possibility to order a printed version of your electronic document via „epubli“. This will incur costs that must be payed by the person ordering the printed version.

A DOI is an online reference assigned to a digital resource (e.g. an article in a journal or research data) to give it a unique and permanent reference on the Internet. The DOIs are permanently connected to the digital resource – regardless of changes on websites or servers being switched off (in this case a DOI is simply rerouted to a new URL). The use of DOIs, for example, prevents the occurrence of dead links when publishers change the web address of a server. Among all the different ways to reference digital objects on the Internet permanently, DOIs have become the leading system when publishing text and data.
