Data policies of learned societies journals

FID GEO has published a study about data policies of 31 journals from the geosciences and biodiversity research, which are published by German professional societies or research institutions.
The statements on data publication in the data policies and author guidelines of the journals were compared with 14 pre-defined features of data policies. The quality of data policies is discussed and recommendations are provided to raise the awareness of German professional societies / research institutions about data publishing and to support them in introducing or improving journal data policies.
